Zomer Academie Zutphen by Johannette Zomer
The Zomer Academie Zutphen (ZAZ) is a platform for young music professionals, students and amateurs.
ZAZ was founded in 2016 on the initiative of singer Johannette Zomer, who lives in Zutphen. As artistic director of the ZAZ, with her extensive international solo career, Johannette can build on a wide network of specialist musicians. The starting point is the vocal repertoire from the 17th and early 18th centuries. ZAZ organizes a five-day festival every two years with master-classes, workshops and concerts in the historic centre of Zutphen. In addition other educational activities take place throughout the year, such as choir workshops and – alternately with the Summer Academy – a biennial opera project.
ZAZ is a platform where professional & amateur musicians meet the public. Research and transfer of knowledge go hand-in-hand with the exploration of new repertoire, the development of innovative productions and the organization of concerts throughout the country. Johannette Zomer is supported in her versatile activities as a soloist, programmer and concert organizer by Stichting Sparrowtree.
